This program focuses on providing mentoring for at-risk and high-risk youth ages 6 to 18 years of age in the San Juan County, NM, Navajo Nation region in various youth settings, including afterschool programming. The program is dedicated to Trauma-Informed Care principles, evidence-based services, and training to improve academic outcomes and personal goals. This program provides counseling, tutoring in core subjects, life skills learning, fitness activities, culturally aligned arts and crafts, and drug and alcohol misuse prevention education. The program aims to increase social skills, resiliency, coping skills, improve school grades and attendance, and identifying strategies to work towards healthy, long-term goals.
