The Wyman’s evidence-based Teen Outreach Program® (TOP®) is a positive youth development program designed to build teens’ educational success, life, and leadership skills, and teach healthy behaviors and relationships. 

The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of middle school teens at Dennehotso and Kayenta Boarding Schools, Kayenta, Arizona.


I-LEAD: Native Youth Initiative for Leadership, Empowerment, and Development

  • Native Youth Initiative for Leadership, Empowerment, and Development

Funding from the Administration of Native Americans allows CBI to employ and train fifteen (15) Native youth Community Change Agents (CCAs) over the three (3) year period. The CCA’s receive extensive training in grant writing, community development, and engaging youth in service-learning projects while living about their tribal community. 

The CCAs utilize their new knowledge to conduct teach-back sessions to Navajo Chapter Houses, plus community non- profits, and local youth organizations primarily in San Juan and McKinley Counties in New Mexico.


PREIS: Personal Responsibility Education Program Innovative Strategies

This teen pregnancy prevention program is designed to help students make positive healthy decisions through the utilization of the Native Students Together Against Negative Decisions (STAND) curriculum. 

Native STAND provides a safe learning environment for students to explore their attitudes and beliefs around goals, values, sexual health, communication skills, and many more concepts that are valuable and adult learning skills. 

This research-based program is administered to high school students in the Central Consolidated School District (CCSD) in San Juan County, New Mexico.


RBDG: Rural Business Development Grant – Shiprock River Vision Architectural Master Plan

  • Shiprock River Vision Rural Development Project:

This project will utilize economic growth strategies that reflect multi-jurisdictional stakeholder collaboration and engages the strengths of the Shiprock community by aligning resources and assets. 

The proposed project will create an Architectural Master Development Plan for a 243-acre parcel along the San Juan River in Shiprock, NM where Highways 64 and 491 intersect. 

The Architectural Master Development Plan is developed by data collected via surveys about core values, capital assessment activities and collaborating with Navajo Nation government agencies and other non-profit organizations.


TCPP: Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program

This program will provide the Navajo community members, including youth, veterans, and pregnant women, with access to health education tobacco cessation and prevention media.


NMYMS: New Mexico Youth Mentoring Services

This is a youth group mentoring program dedicated to providing counseling, tutoring, life skills, and drug prevention education to 111 Diné youth in San Juan County.

This mentoring program aims to increase social skills, resiliency, and coping, and improve school attendance rates, in addition to supporting all youth participants in identifying strategies and working towards healthy long-term goals.


TPP20: Optimally Changing the Map for Teen Pregnancy – Youth Builders TOP Program

Will deliver Wyman’s Teen Outreach Program (TOP©) virtually to youth in grades 9th and 10th in the Health or Physical Education classrooms of the six (6) identified high schools in San Juan County, New Mexico.

This program promotes positive youth development including community service-learning projects. These youth development lessons focus on emotional management, decision making, problem-solving, and goal setting.

Due to this being a replica program, one of the goals is to create a comprehensive Youth Builders Blueprint describing all action steps taken to achieve program goals and objectives through written guidance.


SWAG: Success With Adolescent Goals

Success With Adolescent Goals (SWAG) Program as a Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) program that targets middle school students aged 11 to 16 years old. Collaborate with community partners to identify participants and build community support around youth advocacy and program development.

SWAG program focuses on issues around values, relationships with family and peers, life skills, and sexuality. In addition to the former topics, community service learning projects are conducted to connect meaningful community services with academic learning, personal growth, and civic responsibility.
